About IELTS
What is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS tests all four language skills – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The IELTS Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified Examiner. It is interactive and as close to a real-life situation as a test can get. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council; IDP IELTS; and Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

Register
How to register?
To view upcoming test dates and availability for IELTS in San Diego, California, go to the IELTS USA Online Registration System and register online. To complete your registration, you will need a digital copy of your identification (Passport, US Permanent Resident Card or US Employment Authorization Card) and a credit or debit card to complete payment for your test registration.
On test day, you MUST present the same picture ID that you used to register for the test.
Photocopies, electronic images (e.g., pictures of your ID on your phone), or other forms of ID will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.
Test date transfers and cancellations
Please note that all requests for changes to your test date must be made in writing to [email protected]. To understand the transfers, refunds and cancellations policy for United States test centers, please reference our terms and conditions.
We cannot accept transfer or cancellation requests by phone.
How can you confirm your IELTS Registration?
You will receive a Test Registration Confirmation email after your registration is complete. This confirmation email will be sent to the e-mail address you provided on the IELTS Registration form. Please check your email (including junk/spam folders) regularly.
This confirmation email will include information about your test day registration time, test location, and type of test you are registered for. It is responsibility of the test taker to notify the test center if you have not received the confirmation email immediately after booking the test. Please pay specific attention to a Test Day Reminder email you will receive in the week before your test date. It will contain important information about the location and timing of your exam.

Transportation
The test center is centrally located in the heart of Mission Valley San Diego, making it easily accessible by bus, or car. It is just a few minutes walk from Texas St/Camino Del Rio S bus stop. The address is conveniently positioned near several major highways, including Interstate 8 and Interstate 5.
Parking
On-site parking is available at our test center. Detailed parking information will be provided to all registered test takers 3–4 days ahead of the test day. The parking lot is located in front of the building. Additionally, street parking is also available.
Do not be late to your IELTS test!
If you are not in the registration line before the doors close, you will not be allowed to take the test and will not receive a refund or be allowed to transfer to a future test date.

Additional TRFs
Test takers are entitled to request an unlimited number of electronic Test Report Forms and five (5) paper copies of the Test Report Form free of charge to be sent directly to recognizing organizations, within 2 years of test date.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) no longer requires the test taker to provide a paper copy for the purpose of verifying IELTS scores. IRCC has the ability to verify test taker results using the Test Report Form (TRF) number.

Enquiry on results
If you are not satisfied with your IELTS results, you can apply for a review and re-mark of your score(s) through a service called an Enquiry on Results (EOR) within 6 weeks after your test date.
If you wish to take the next step to have your IELTS re-marked, you will need to log in to your IELTS account, open the Results page and click on “Improve your score”. Follow the instructions on the Portal. The Enquiry on Results (EOR) fee will be refunded if the review results in a score change.
Your result may become available on the same day as your application and up to 21 days after your application. The amount of time it takes to provide results depends on several factors, including the number of sections you’ve asked us to re-mark. If you have not received a response after 21 days, please contact us.
